Short consideration about the possibility of measurement spot welds using ultrasonic line scanner

Because we have had many answers and contacts from companies, interested in measuring spot welds using scanning technique, we have decided to build a device, that can demonstrate the possibilities of this idea.

Following picures shows the results, that ca be obtained with this device:

In the region 1 and 3 no weld is existing, in the region 2 the weld is existing. Evaluation of signals from this region can allow to decide, if the quality of weld is good enough.

We have made some tests and considerations and are sure, that this technique will allow to evaluate spot weld connections in laboratory and industry. 

We are searching partners and customers, interested in this technique.

In a short time I will prepare a longer paper about our considerations, measurements and proposals. Today only german and polish versions of this paper are more comprehensive.
